Amor En Silencio is a Mexican telenovela, produced and broadcast by Televisa in 1989. The telenovela, which starred Erika Buenfil and Omar Fierro in the lead roles, is most remembered for its shocking scene in which the main heroine, Marisela and her fiancé Fernando are shot to death at their wedding by Fernando's lunatic sister, Mercedes.The infamous scene aired on a Friday night, and left the TV spectators in suspense until the following Monday episode aired.The theme song for the novela was "Amor en Silencio" by Dulce.

After losing all her loved ones fifteen years ago and believing her babies were killed at the hands of the father of her first love, Leona Bravo embarks on a journey of justice against all those who hurt her. In this process, Leona discovers that her children are actually alive and is reunited with an old friend with whom she finds true love. As a result, she will be torn between her desire for justice and rebuilding her bond with her two children, as well as regaining her faith in love.

A filmic reflection on the way in which cinema taught us to live romantic love during the 20th century, building an impossible ideal within our personal relationships. Cinema taught viewers how they had to see it, worse, it showed directors how they had to film it. Based on quotations from early cinema films, Contar el amor discusses the role of sex and violence as central themes in our increasingly broad but, at the same time, less pluralistic audiovisual universe.

Marco, Patricio and Lucrecia form a peculiar loving relationship. For Patricio this does not seem to be a problem; it is shown as a person willing to a fickle love. But Marco plays the role of the neurotic: he does not feel a taste in this triad, he chases the girl, questions his friend, bothers the relationship and shows his disagreement.
